Dyson Makes Ratcheting Noise In Carpet Mode

I know there is a series of steps that can be taken to reset the unit.

Dyson makes ratcheting noise in carpet mode.

The roller brush did not spin and it made the loud ratchet sound when you put the switch to carpet mode. Still don t see it. Any info would help. Don t know the difference.

I looked in the book and it says it doesn t hurt to hurt ratcheting sounds on loose rugs and such but this is excessive. Our dyson cleaner makes a terrible noise when in the carpet mode. We have several area rugs we can t stand to hear all that noise. When it is in the upright position it does not make this noise.
